Baptism

SACRAMENT OF INITIATION

Baptism is the first sacrament of initiation.  Baptism incorporates us into the Church and gives us rebirth as sons and daughters of God.  The Sacrament of Baptism is the first step in a lifelong journey of commitment and discipleship.  Whether we are baptized as infants or adults, Baptism is the Church's way of celebrating and enacting the embrace of God.  If you are an unbaptized adult, please contact the RCIA program.    (see information below) See EUCHARIST and CONFIRMATION to complete your initiation.

 Baptism of Infants
Baptisms of children under seven years old are normally administered after Sunday Mass.  Baptism classes for parents, grandparents and godparents are required. They are held on ZOOM during this time. Please call Ruby at the office at 481-7172 to ask questions and schedule your Baptism Preparation.

Joanne MacPeek will contact you to schedule a time when the parents and Godparents can be present on ZOOM.  A Request for Baptism form must be filled out and returned prior to class.  Click the link below for the Request form and for the Requirements for Baptism form.

Requirements for Baptism

 Baptism of School-Age Children
Sacramental classes for school age children require their participation. Please call to discuss your particular situation. Contact the office for an appointment. Parents participate in the preparation of their children for all sacraments. See the Faith Formation section of this website for more information.

 Baptism for Adults
The Order for Christian Initiation for Adults (OCIA formerly RCIA) is an on-going process of preparation for full membership and participation in the Catholic Community. Inquiry classes are held throughout the year on Sunday morning from 9:00am – 10:15am.  Baptism, Confirmation and First Eucharist, the Sacraments of Initiation, are celebrated each year at the Easter Vigil.

God is present in all of life. Life is filled with distractions and it is often hard to see God's loving presence. If you have questions, doubts, fears...that is normal. Call us to inquire about the opportunities to participate in God's love through the community of faith and the sacraments. God touches every heart in abundant ways. Please call; we are here to listen. Each person's faith journey develops in a unique way. All are welcome to inquire about participating in this experience.
