The custodian of the sacristy is entrusted with the care of the church, of the sacred veils and vestments, vessels, books, and all parts of the oils, candles and lights. The sacristan's appointment and dismissal rest exclusively with the Pastor of the Church. The sacristan must be a person of honesty, good reputation, piety, prudence, zeal, and competence to perform the tasks required.
You can respond to God's call by giving a gift of hospitality as you greet fellow parishioners for Sunday Liturgies. The ushers take up the collections, invite members of the congregations to be gift bearers for the Offertory Procession, distribute bulletins and assist in seating the congregation.
